Hi,
I'm going change some radiator valves for a client and want to replace them with TRV's. He isn't keen and views TRV's as been unreliable. I've never had a problem with them and have always fitted Drayton or Pegler valves.
What is the best and most reliable valves on the market?
Thanks
Got a phone call this afternoon of an old dear who has had a boiler installed by warmfront.
Basically she doesn't like TRV's and she would prefer just normal lockshields. I know TRV's are to be fitted to all new installs now, so would I be able to swap them back for her?

I have 2 radiators in my kitchen which both have TRV's fitted.
I need to replace 1 of the radiators and purchased a hydronic plinth heater which will activate when ever the central heating reaches 40deg.
My question is how do i control the heat output from the heater as there is no obvious...
Hi everyone, my first post here so hope it is in the right section.
I am having some work done on my central heating system including a new boiler and a magnatite cleaner but I would also like to take the opportunity to change the standard valves to thermostatic radiator valves.
The reason for...

Hi All, this is my first post and i hope you can help me overcome a really infuriating issue. I have a pressurised heating system, with drayton trv's on each radiator. recently i had to replace the pressure sensor on the boiler which was straight forward, but now i have an issue with the...

Hi all,
I have just moved house and all the rads including the one in the passage where the thermostat is sited have TRV's fitted.
Our old house had good old fashioned radiators without TRV's and were hot all the time until we turned the stat down and that is what I would like to get back...

I have just had a new condensing combi boiler fitted, retaining the existing radiators and most of the pipework. When the TRV's are in the approx mid point setting the upstairs ones just randomly start knocking, presumably as they are about to shut off. The knocking is easily stopped by just...

Hi, I have 2 questions about installing TRV's.
1) What is better, wax or liquid TRV's?
- best low cost TRV's?
2) The thermostat is between 2 large rooms with the radiators on the far side of each room.
- energy regulations say that the radiator in the room with the thermostat should not be...

Hi all,
just a quick question regarding TRV's. Am i right in saying that a multi directional TRV can be placed on either the Flow or return and horizontal or vertical? And also one way TRV's can they be placed on either the flow or return? I know the arrow on them has to point in the direction...

BAH!
Some of the olives for the 10mm reducer set that comes with were too wide resulting in cross threaded headaches, and a small geezer when trying to tighten the nut on a half filled system when it showed a "rare" drip.
Never again;P
Hi,
I am having my boiler replaced soon with a Vaillant Echo tech 831 and wanted to know what people here thought about TRV's. At the moment I don't have any and manually just turn the valves down in the rooms that get hot.
Can I not just do the same when I get the new boiler rather then...

I am replacing 12 radiator valves in a big old house with 12 trv's. I have quoted a price using "pegler terrier 11's", a middle priced trv. Customer wants to cut price by using a cheaper variety. I know you can get Trv's for under a fiver and i could reduce price by £60-£70, but in the long run...

I have recently fitted Honeywell VT117E TRV's on all my radiators except one (same room as room thermostat). After fitting I found I had a balancing problem as one of the rads did not get hot (unless all other rads were turned off and then it got propperly hot)). The TRV's have a built in...
