Evening a mate has house with this set up and needs a new 3 way valve fitted. Been told he needs a Esbe Alz 160. I've no experience at all of working on this type of system, would it be a simple case of draining down and replacing as with a normal 3 port? Or is it best to stay away?
Any advise...
Hi all,
I suspect the answer is no, but had a landlord ask me whether he can get a grant for a new electric boiler with stored hot water (off-peak type) in his tenanted flat. The tenant is on benefits I believe.
I have no clue so would appreciate any advice! Obviously I would want to do the...
Has anyone fitted one of these - is it simple? (It is to replace an old oil boiler in a small bungalow)
We have no gas and cant afford a new oil boiler, so this seems the ideal solution, although we realise the running costs are higher.
- is the Potterton 12KW one good?
I've just moved into a flat with a Trianco Aztec 9kW electric boiler and it constantly makes a soft whiring noise. You don't really notice it during the day, but at night it's very, very audible through a partition wall.
Can anyone give me an indication of whether this is normal? I don't want...

Hi,
Ive just bought a flat and unfortunately I hadn't checked/requested a gase safe certificate, and it turns out that the boiler isn't at the standards. Moreover the boiler has just broken and I'm let to believe by BG that they won't replace it because they can't make the air vent up to the...

I have bought a flat with an electric boiler - the flat is all electric. The boiler is a Vented Cylinder
My question is:
1. As this is not gas powered - do I need to service it? It is 10 years old, but looks OK and has been working fine
2. If I do need it serviced once a year -...

My quotes are now high, and I have a - 'if you want it done properly, you will pay good money to get it done right' - attitude!
This is how much it costs to do it properly - and of course you can get it done cheaper/bodged up as...
