doing
In sociology and gender studies, "doing gender" is the idea that gender, rather than being an innate quality of individuals, is a psychologically ingrained social construct that actively surfaces in everyday human interaction. This term was used by Candace West and Don Zimmerman in their article "Doing Gender", published in 1987 in Gender and Society. According to this paper, an individual's performance of gender is intended to construct gendered behavior as naturally occurring. This façade furthers a system through which individuals are judged in terms of their failure or success to meet gendered societal expectations, called the accountability structure. The concept of doing gender was later expanded by authors such as West and Fenstermaker in the book Doing Gender, Doing Difference.

When not working for him...

The thing is, the books they say I need are £150.00!!:bigcry:

Is it even possible or do you think it would depend on the college?
As I have the 6129 in addition to my ACS, I'd like to do the NVQ also, it would be good experience and I can only benefit from it. Basically doing an apprenticeship but...

Hello all
The Olympics are set to inject more than £5 billion into the British economy and we’re hoping some of this cash has already, and will continue to go to gas engineers.
Whether you have been involved in large contracts to install gas appliances, or carried out a few gas safety checks...
I'm wondering if I am the only one to be worried sick about doing my gas exams? When I'm at work I am confident in what I'm doing, but under exam conditions I'm terrible.
Even though I know what I'm doing I can say that I'm not totally confident of my own ability in the exams!
Anybody else been...
I have done a power flush and the mis said to run boiler at around 50degrees. However, when i turned it on it banged and rattled and then shut down. Is this due to flow or what? Any ideas would help.
Hi everyone,
For those of you who know my current situation (ACS qualified but inexperienced, although working weekends). Do you think it would be a good idea to become GSR?
If I give them a call are they likely to be understanding that I am still in the army so not actually doing gas jobs...
Can anyone recommend a decent tap reseating tool, with an assortment of heads? I'm a student plumber, and don't want to waste my money on a rubbish one.
Thanks,
Jennie
