water tank
A water tank is a container for storing water.
Water tanks are used to provide storage of water for use in many applications, drinking water, irrigation agriculture, fire suppression, agricultural farming, both for plants and livestock, chemical manufacturing, food preparation as well as many other uses. Water tank parameters include the general design of the tank, and choice of construction materials, linings. Various materials are used for making a water tank: plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene), fiberglass, concrete, stone, steel (welded or bolted, carbon, or stainless). Earthen pots, such as matki used in South Asia, can also be used for water storage. Water tanks are an efficient way to help developing countries to store clean water.

Hi,
My overflow has been constantly going from the loft cold water tank. On looking the ball valve was very old and had been bent and tied and all sorts and it was leaking. I think it was a part one valve.
I have tried replacing it with a part 2 valve. I have it in place and tightened...

I've got an old heating system in my house, Baxi back boiler and 8 rads. Some of the rads have been getting warm at the top but cold at the bottom. I took one out and flushed it through. It took nearly an hour with a hose before I could get a clean flow! I though I would run some Sentinel X400...

Attached is an image of the gledhill combi tank in my newly purchased flat.
I can't work out what the second pipe going into the top of the tank does, and cant find any info on the internet.
Please can someone advise?
I think its a Gledhill economy 7 direct combi tank.
Many Thanks,
Joe

Question is, do I still need the cold water tank?

Thanks in advance.

Hi All. I have a fast dripping overflow. Apparently the ballcock in the cold water tank is rusty and 'on it's last legs'. How easy a job is it to replace DIY or how much should I expect to pay a plumber to come out and do it? Thanks :)
