faults
In geology, a fault is a planar fracture or discontinuity in a volume of rock across which there has been significant displacement as a result of rock-mass movements. Large faults within Earth's crust result from the action of plate tectonic forces, with the largest forming the boundaries between the plates, such as subduction zones or transform faults. Energy release associated with rapid movement on active faults is the cause of most earthquakes. Faults may also displace slowly, by aseismic creep.A fault plane is the plane that represents the fracture surface of a fault. A fault trace or fault line is a place where the fault can be seen or mapped on the surface. A fault trace is also the line commonly plotted on geologic maps to represent a fault.A fault zone is a cluster of parallel faults. However, the term is also used for the zone of crushed rock along a single fault. Prolonged motion along closely spaced faults can blur the distinction, as the rock between the faults is converted to fault-bound lenses of rock and then progressively crushed.
Im getting bleedin annoyed with em. I dont get many but when I do they are always the furthest away. I have decided to create a checklist which I will print and each one gets left at the custards until its fixed. I wil explain to the custard the nature of intermittent faults and we can only...
2 years ago the pilot light in my potterton kingfisher II wouldn't light and an engineer changed the gas sensor for it. That fixed the problem, but I've noticed that he turned the boilers thermostat up to max, and since then after switching the boiler off the pilot light goes out aswell and I...

Been to a combi today - going to lockout once every week or even two weeks. As I warned letting agent before going, everything performed spot on in all modes while I was there. Just wondering after visual check, gas pressures etc how far people go above the basic checks to locate possible faults ?
Hi all – would appreciate some advice please
I have a three year old Viessmann 26 kw system boiler – a Vitodens 100-W WB1B. As far as I know (and I have no reason to doubt it) it was installed properly by local tradesperson (Gassafe reg and all that sort of thing) to replace knackered old...
one to watch out for
had a flame failure fault on a main 24 he(same boiler as a baxi 80 he or performa 24 he)
basically it was giving the classic aps died symptoms but the aps tested fine, the venturie was spotless, the fan speed was good,i knew it was not the flue at fault i fitted it in 2007...

Went out to a GLOW WORM MICRON 50FF last night with a intermittent fault.

Hi,
Has anyone experienced faulty modules in their Imax boilers?
I have two boilers working in sequence and I'm on my fourth replacement module in two years.
Is this a common weakness in their design?
Geoff
Hi all,
Recently, me and my Corgi/Gas safe pal have fitted in a Biasi 24 non condense in.
The boiler is brandnew, it was fitted 2weeks prior, but only switched on today and has resulted in a problem already. Basically when it comes to fire up it goes through it's normal cycle but then all of...
hello all, my boss has given me a list of possible faults to find on Y and S plan systems e.g only get hot water when heating on. S Plan, no heating (heating motorised valve not getting live to brown)
So my question is... would the answers be any different if it were NOT a low water content...
I have a customer with an unvented cylinder .. don't think the numpty has ever had his unvented system serviced .. hot water is discharged from his system into the tundish with a regular steady dribble .. can anyone pin-point the problem or is it a case of following the manufacturers guide.
Over the past 12 months i'm getting more and more calls from custards regarding work on boiler faults , no heating /hot water etc etc . Usually i just stick to installs and due to recession im starting to do works on faulty appliances.
My problem is due to the fact my usual worload is...
After going through this boiler many times, the solution to this problem A01 is one component on the main pcb.
The opto isolator is located on the bottom right handside of the pcb and is a 6 pin chip costing 26p. On replacing ensure spark electrodes are moved an extra 1 cm apart to prevent the...
