Pan connector into cast.

Pan connector with standard 110mm outlet was monumental effort to get in. And distorted due to squeeze. 90mm outlet pan connector was so loose it was possible to insert without touching the sides ooh err.

What gives?

Pan cons were McApline if that makes a difference.

Use Multikwik, they're more giving.

Cheers Mike. Still confused what the sizes are for though. Obviously 110 is for plastic but what are 90mm and 70mm pan cons for? Because 90mm seems way too small for cast iron. but since plastic and cast make up 99% of soil pipes you see I was presuming that's what it's for?

McAlpine are quality so suprised neither of the pan connectors you can commonly buy will make a good fit into cast.

What size is your cast iron soil pipe?
I have seen different size CI pipes in this area, use a Multiquick.

I guess most cast iron is smaller than the stuff I've been coming across. This stuff is just a bit smaller than 110mm plastic so nothing fits.

And in the last instance the previous guy had clearly given himself a hernia getting a normal pan con in. Thing was so distorted it had been leaking for ages.

I know multikwik did an extension piece B that was smaller, 3 1/2 inch ? Would that fit, not sure what that is in MM.

Failing that chop it off and connect to plastic with a band seal perhaps?

I have worked with two different sizes of cast iron the most common size cast takes the 3 1/2" pan connecter or there is a smaller diameter cast which takes a 3" pan connecter.
Multiquick are best for cast pipes.

Well round Sussex there is definitely a size that is too small to take 110mm outlet pan cons and too big to take the 3 1/2" and 3" ones. But I've only tried McAlpine as usually think their stuff is the bees knees. Will try Multikwik due to various people saying they have more give. Pity poofix and tulestation don't do 'em.
