Copper pipes, I think its fair to say, is not what it used to be, the copper is getting thin while the cost is going up. Meanwhile, plastic Pushfit seems to be getting better and better, cost and convenience was always better, but now the quality is to, have we reached a stage where plastic will...
Hi,
I have a 40mm pushfit branch / boss that I want to convert to solvent weld.
I want to get rid of the pushfit aspect altogether, is this possible?
If so, how?
Can anyone help identify the brand of this fitting? I’m trying to identify what inserts I’ll need to connect in to existing pipe.

I want to replace two of the flexible hoses that feed the shower mixer valve. I don't like how they have been bent at a right angle.
All the fitting in our bathroom are these pushfit fittings. I don't know the brand. Fortunately, I have removed some sections of pipework in the bathroom and kept...
Non plumber here, just a householder so please go easy on me!
Our house was renovated several years ago and all plumbing replaced. It is a mixture of copper and hep20 - listed building so hep20 was better in some places to use existing holes in joists. The system was fully pressure tested after...
Is it OK to combine osma, polypipe and floplast push fit waste pipe? I. E polypipe fittings and floplast pipe. Different merchants sell just one of the above. So I tend to end up with bits from different manufacturers. I presume its OK. I'm sure I have before and never had any issues. Just...
Has anyone used it?
I have a Screwfix leaflet in front of me and their flomasta fitting looks identical, with the telltale green line. Anybody used this one?
Hi guys,
I am a DIYer and have recently bought a house. under the kitchen sink is a bit of a mess and I'd like to have a go myself. I have done some basic plumbing before and all I really want to do is move the waste closer to the wall and sort out the 'Ball of String' that is my hot and cold...
Hi
Is this a pushfit elbow?
Can the pipe be easily removed should I want to do. Is a release tool needed? Does anyone recognise the fitting? So, that I know what to by.
The drain valves are now leaking after draining the system and I've been told the need replacing
These look very similar...
Hello all, I'm new here and hope you can help. I'm trying to install a new bathroom (first time). I'm using JG speedfit connectors and pipe. The mixer valve hot and cold inlets have small filters in them, which obstruct the connecter I'm trying to attach. Any ideas on how I solve this? The first...
Hi, just trying to get an opinion on some plumbing the bathroom/kitchen fitter is in the process of fitting for our new sink, shower & rad.
First pic is cold supply coming in through the wall from the toilet next door. There are double joists right under the stud wall, hence coming in hidden in...
I had a leak coming out from this reducing tee just after a month after installation.
I think it’s an old Hep2O tee.
I took it apart and found that the grab ring had scratch the PEX pipe.
Making me think the pipe had move out of its place.
Has anyone else have the same problem and any idea...

Hi
Our RSP-75 Salamander shower pump sprang a leak from the cold side end cap 3 months after installation and their technical support said it was because it was feeding both the bathtaps and the shower whereas they should only be used for shower(s). They recommended the RHP-75 as a whole house...
So pushfit waste fittings usually leak I'd there not pushed all the way in? Had one with a small leak on it but wasn't pushed all the way home. Pushing it fully in cured the small leak.
Hello guys,
I have seen now many times people consider plastic pipe in regards with pushfit ( hep2o, JG speedfit, ) as Cowboy work or as a lazy plumbing etc.
I mean I am an oldschool fan and love the old way which is pure copper and solder or press, but wondering why are you guys consider this...
I am installing vertical column rads and want to use chrome plated pipes to the rad outlets through the floor, transitioning to pex in the basement. But so far I have had no luck finding anything suitable whatsoever. I know chrome plated pipe for plumbing applications exists because I have seen...
Walked in on a new install yesterday and there was push fit absolutely everywhere! I've never run it under floors in case of fittings leaking after time, is this the norm now?
just thought check here before doing it.. Can I solder hard regular copper onto soft copper tap tails with endfeed fittings without any problems? hopin for speedy replies as they're fluxed up and ready to go!
Used to copper pushfit today. Leak needed to be stopped. Access terrible. Water wouldn't shut off fully so solder not poss, speedfit too bulky for space. No room to swing a spanner. Checked was metric, clean, smooth.
Just wondering how reliable....
