In geometry, topology, and related branches of mathematics, a closed set is a set whose complement is an open set. In a topological space, a closed set can be defined as a set which contains all its limit points. In a complete metric space, a closed set is a set which is closed under the limit operation.
This should not be confused with a closed manifold.

Closed off second lead pipe in kitchen

Hi, We live in a lower flat (one up/one down) and the mains water is delivered to both flats from a single on pavement stopcock. Our central heating system is fed from a tank above the boiler and I believe that this tank is fed from another tank in the upstairs flat's loft. When running...

So heres the story, my own boiler was replaced a year ago. So before some random stuff gets put in - I want a 20 year life...

3 pumps in 12 months closed thread

Chalked I'm not sure why you have closed my thread, surely the idea of this forum is for an engineer to put a problem out there for others to help if possible. I see nothing wrong with my replies but you have seen fit to close the thread without explanation.

I misunderstood the purpose of this forum, as I thought it was a general help and information forum rather than a Certified plumbers forum, which is what the answers received imply? Closed to public oil forum

Is there any reason there isn't a closed to public oil forum? Only reason I'm asking is I have a few questions regarding oil prices etc and don't really want to fill the arms up with them. Is there any chance 1 could be set up like the commercial so arms members can gain access to it?

    Hammer Arrestors

I note that one of the internet videos showing how to install a pressure reducing valve also shows water hammer arrestors being installed to, e.g. washing machine supply outlets. Is this necessary or just a precautionary measure?
