Hi We moved in to a new house (a 200 year old cottage) 2 months ago and had the boiler serviced just 2 weeks ago. The guy said that the boiler has had some good money spent on it in the past and that it should be working perfectly. However I noticed over the past few days that the water...

Evening All, I have a customer who wants a modern oil boiler fitting to replace his ancient one. The big problem is he's divided his house into two with a holiday cottage next door. I'm not sure but surely that's against Building Regs and he needs two boilers?. Can anyone advise me? Thanks, Jock

I have here a Trianco TRO 15/19 boiler and on inspection it has no baffle plates, just the flimsy flue baffle box. Without any plates the flue temperature is off the scale! Did Trianco make the boiler (I think it must be a Mk.1 TRO 15/90) without baffle plates?

I'm looking for some advice on a frustrating problem I'm having with my old Eurostar 50-60s oil boiler please? Although it's old, most parts needed to operate it are now new. The symptoms indicated a broken/seized burner motor or oil pump. I wrongly assumed the motor so I ordered a new one only...

Here is a classic example of why oil tanks should be installed correctly, with adequate spill and fire protection. This is what my sisters house mate managed to do to their shed yesterday. In the their garden is also a large double bunded plastic oil tank. Fortunately the tank was installed to...

My ageing tiger loop could do with replacing. All I can find online have horizontal connections whereas mine has the connections vertically the pipes coming in from below. I was hoping I could get a straight swap unit. Will i need to alter my pipework as well then?

The boiler (480k, serviced every year) will not turn off at the end of the 3rd timed cycle each day, even though the green 'on' light is out. This happens when set to 'heat and hot water'. Switching to 'hot water' only, turns it off. Engineer called three times and has replaced the control...

When putting our CH and HW on, it’s sometimes a lottery as to whether the central heating will come on. The HW works every time with no problems. Furthermore, when the CH does come on, sometimes only half of the radiators in the house come on - when this happens, we switch CH/HW off and switch...
