Hi there,

I have a 40mm waste that is capped and sealed with a rubber adapter. I need to reuse this access point but I have very limited space.

The capped 40mm pipe wont pull out of the rubber adapter or the rubber adapter from the soil stack.

Are there any top tips for removing these? If I could get a drill in between the joists I would drill all the way round the seal but there is just not enough space.

I am not able to cut in a new strap on stack either as it is internal and it is already creeping into the room below!

Many thanks for any help in advance.

You could push screwdriver between boss and soil pipe and try getting it off but this could crack soil pipe.
could you put another one above, need pics really

Cheers guys, hold tight I will work out how to load a pic up

The internal diameter of the boss is 50mm and the soil stack fitting is OSMA. The boss section of the straight soil section has a hairline ring around it like I have not seen before. Almost as though it is in two parts. Todays boss sections look all one piece. I would ruffly date the stack at 80's

Hi guys, few years off doing the work but I like to plan. Can a soil stack be rerouting away from the house, over an extension roof? Reason to avoid internal stack from ceiling to floor. Quickest 30second sketch attached. I'd presume any horizontal would have to have the appropriate fall, new...

Trying to connect up new 40mm waste into the old soil stack (which would be an absolute pain to remove), it's all Osma pipe, from the 70s. Pulled out the old waste from the boss and discovered the seal is pretty knackered, hardened and cracked everywhere (red coloured seal in the photo)...

Morning all, as always can never find an exact existing thread / discussion where I don't feel like I'm making one too many assumptions. Can I get a quick sense check on the below, always wanting to work 1 step ahead, eventually planning to add an en-suite to my existing loft conversion. Got...

Morning everyone. Got an issue with an internal soil stack boss strap failure. The boss strap had been sealed originally with silicon which has failed and caused a leak. The soil stack is accessible but it’s tight working area. Do I seal the boss strap with OB1, cross my fingers and hope it...

Hi, When running 50mm waste to the stack, how do I get it so the 50mm does not have to be so far from the wall? As the offset at the stack dictated by the boss on the soil pipe. Hopefully this makes sense! Please see my picture which hopefully helps. I bought a 135 deg bend thinking I could...
