grinder
An angle grinder, also known as a side grinder or disc grinder, is a handheld power tool used for grinding (abrasive cutting) and polishing. Although developed originally as tools for rigid abrasive discs, the availability of an interchangeable power source has encouraged their use with a wide variety of cutters and attachments.Angle grinders can be powered by an electric motor or compressed air. The motor drives a geared head at a right-angle on which is mounted an abrasive disc or a thinner cut-off disc, either of which can be replaced when worn. Angle grinders typically have an adjustable guard and a side-handle for two-handed operation. Certain angle grinders, depending on their speed range, can be used as sanders, employing a sanding disc with a backing pad or disc. The backing system is typically made of hard plastic, phenolic resin, or medium-hard rubber depending on the amount of flexibility desired.
Angle grinders are standard equipment in metal fabrication shops and on construction sites. They are also common in machine shops, along with die grinders and bench grinders.
I have a tap which I believe was made in Italy probably more than 30 years ago. It is hard to turn off fully, even after replacing the washer, and I assume it needs the seat grinding. Unfortunately the thread into which one expects to screw the grinder does not match any of the threads on the...

Hi all,
I have a customer who wants his toilet replaced. I can see problems with it. (I'm likely to hand the job over to a more experienced plumber, and go along for 'work experience', but am interested to know how I could have proceeded).
It's an old installation with a cast-iron toilet...
Hi all,
I could do with some general tips regarding toilet siphons. I've already mended a few in the past, including one on my own (which luckily went totally to plan). I've got another two this week, and - just in case they give me grief - would like to be prepared. So...

Just wondered when chasing out to run 15mm pipes in a wall do i keep the width to a minimum and should the pipe be sleeved in anything? I dont have a fancy electric chaser so i was also wondering what the best tool would be to use with the hammer. ie bolster or smaller chisel.
Cheers
I've got a toilet to swap over in a bathroom and need to clean the inside of the cast iron soil pipe to accept a Mulitiquick.
It has the usual 80 years of corrosion/scale build up and want to grind that off pretty quick to a smooth surface for the fins to seal against. I'll be against the clock...

So you have some fancy porcelain tiles on the job and you think you can just angle grind your way through it to make holes.
Right Idea?
Well at ********* we would ask you to reconsider your approach. When you angle grind holes from the back of a tiles it is a crude approach, creates a lot...
