condenser
A condenser is an optical lens which renders a divergent beam from a point source into a parallel or converging beam to illuminate an object.
Condensers are an essential part of any imaging device, such as microscopes, enlargers, slide projectors, and telescopes. The concept is applicable to all kinds of radiation undergoing optical transformation, such as electrons in electron microscopy, neutron radiation and synchrotron radiation optics.

Hi,
The boiler is coming on when the timer clock is set to off. Because the timer clock is off no motorised valves open and so no heat gets around the house but the radiator nearest the boiler gets hot, (obviously not controlled by the valves).
Why would this happen?
The control box was...
Hello everybody I am new to this group and I am not a gas engineer but have some basic plumbing experience.
Anyway, I have recently bought a house and the previous owner had a worcester 28i greenstar boiler fitted in 2011 by British Gas. There is paperwork to suggest it has been serviced on a...
quick question, does a vertical condenser flue need to have a rain cap or as it is full of steam which I assume must condense at times, does it drain anyhow?
Thanks

My mother recently had her boiler replaced from an old oil-fired boiler (25 years old) to a new Grant Euroflame condenser boiler on the recommendation of her plumber. It is an open boiler in the garage which links to the hot water cylinder (hot press) in the house and an immersion heater.

Having investigated this boiler (Ravenheat CSI 85T) I have come to the conclusion that there is an internal leak in the condenser. The pressure drops on the boiler over a period of 24 hours (boiler isolated from system) and there seems to be more water than expected from the condensate drain in...

The condenser pipe was recently re-glued in the loft. We were told to wait 12 hours before switching the boiler back on. We did this but the problem seems to be getting steadily worse. The reason for the fix in the first place was because the glue had melted initially when they installed it...

(I think a combi is condensing as well, but not sure what the other type is called)
