bleeding
Bleeding, also known as a hemorrhage, haemorrhage, or simply blood loss, is blood escaping from the circulatory system from damaged blood vessels. Bleeding can occur internally, or externally either through a natural opening such as the mouth, nose, ear, urethra, vagina or anus, or through a wound in the skin.
Hypovolemia is a massive decrease in blood volume, and death by excessive loss of blood is referred to as exsanguination. Typically, a healthy person can endure a loss of 10–15% of the total blood volume without serious medical difficulties (by comparison, blood donation typically takes 8–10% of the donor's blood volume). The stopping or controlling of bleeding is called hemostasis and is an important part of both first aid and surgery.
The use of cyanoacrylate glue to prevent bleeding and seal battle wounds was designed and first used in the Vietnam War. Today many medical treatments use a medical version of "super glue" instead of using traditional stitches used for small wounds that need to be closed at the skin level.

I have an unvented hot water/central heating system in my home. I recently went round and bled all the radiators, because of this the pressure in the expansion tank dropped to 0. I connected the filling line and filled it back up so it was at 1.5 bar. Is it ok to do this? What should the...

Hi all,
I have a can of Fernox F1 to be applied to the system via a radiator - do you close both valves and then let some water out thro the bleed valve - and then inject the contents of the can? How much water do I need to let out of radiator first?
cheers,
dave

So my mum had a rad valve body from a TRV, with no TRV cap.
The store told her she'd need to know the make of the TRV before getting a replacement cap, which she did not know as it's not written on the body.
Next time I come round she'd improvised by taking the cap off a normal rad valve...
