Danny i think you should have a serious think about the way you treat your mates, i mean most of us know some ONE who has moved away but you..................................

I know, and two of them were very close mates - best man at my wedding, and I was best man at two of the three!

I just think a lot of my generation are more inclinded to go abroad.

I took a year out in oz 2 years ago, in sydney and the big cities certificates count for nothing (I have NVQ 2&3 from modern apprenticeship), but if you move out of the major cities, you'll find work. I stayed in Alice Springs for 6 months, most people say its a sh**hole because of all the aboriginals, and in a way they are right (the "abos" get constantly hammered and fight with they're shadows) but at 50 bucks an hour you cant complain!! I worked on the abo communities, where it would be 2-3 weeks on then 5 days off, it was 35-45 degrees everyday (you don't get used to that heat, you just stop complaining about it!!) and some of the work was slightly repulsive but I loved it, you see parts of Australia that had you wondering if you were one of the first backpackers to see, very, very remote!! You just have to braze, be able to bend copper and use a shovel to be an aussie plumber, they are crap, which is good as it makes you look like super plumber. I eventually left (though my bos11s offered sponsorship) because i couldn't deal with the racism and arrogance of the aussies!! but thats my story on findind work in oz

thinking of going out myself, see jobs posted on recruit2oz looking plumbers 30 dollars/hr isnt that great! When you plan on going out, iv a interview tomorrow with them!!

good luck mate and at todays exchange rates that nearly 20 pound an hour.

Our son went out to oz last april got a job plumbing the next day and has been working ever since, he loves it there, he has now got sponsorship so is staying until he gets citizenship then will come home. :)

You need nvq level 3 at a minumum or 8 yrs experience in the trade. We are looking at this at the minute and im having to go on my other halfs trade due to me not having enough experience in the trade. We wont be going for a few yrs yet

Is there also an age restriction I thought 45 was the maximum age at which emigration was allowed for this trade?

My girlfriend and I are applying to hopefully move to Oz. We're applying through her at the moment as a teacher. I have gathered that I'll go straight into the classroom, but such is life!
Looking to move to the East Coast, somewhere between Brisbane and Sydney.

I've my Nat Gas, and I'm thinking of taking my LPG as it's on offer through my employer. I've my unvented and water regs but I know that these don't overly mean much. Expirence will help me and I'm still young!

I was mid quali's when we started applying and my bird had finished hers, so we started on her name.
I've my level 3. Basically, I go in at what level I go in at. Hope to find out in a few years.

one of my colleagues went to oz earlier last year, he is now planning on staying there. He went with the intention of working in subway or a bar but was offered work shortly after getting there.
