Hello all

I came to replace the cartridge on my bathroom mixer tap, as thehot tap was leaking, and to get the head cover off there is a hole round the back that you slot an allen key into and undo the grub screw. Once i had unscrewed the grub screw i was hoping the cover would slide off and reveal the cartridge to replace but the cover wont come off! I dont know whether there is a special way to get them off or whether it has just seized on. I tried some WD40 but didnt seem to do the trick.

Ive hopefully uploaded a picture of the tap.

Any advice will be a great help.

thanks

It does come off. However, it will be calcified on so rock it back & forth gently but firmly pulling upwards as you go.

Sadly, this will only be your first hurdle. More is to come as the taps are located where they are - hopefully not ;) #TestOfYourMettle

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...

Hi bit of a weird issue, I installed a grohe bathroom tap successfully 2 months ago bought from screwfix. Last week the right hand hot tap makes a squeak noise as I turn it on or off, left tap is 100% perfect and noiseless. This grohe tap is like one unit, so no screw notch or way I can remove...
