Hi all, I have a customer with a Stelflow unvented cylinder installed approx 18 months ago. All taps, showers, toilets are new and for use with a high pressure system. When a hot or cold tap is opened (90% of the time) there is a screeching noise in the pipework, it doesn't disappear by opening more than one outlet. I'm assuming the pressure is too high, but havent taken any readings yet.

The uv cylinder is in the garage and the cold water to the house is not taken from the tapping for balanced cold water (this has been used to feed the top up for the sealed boiler!)

Any suggestions graatefully received

If I remember correctly there was some issue with the expansion vessels on these, there was a thread on it some time ago.

check pressures on incoming, if the cold feed isnt taken off the balanced outlet then it could be v high plus any mixer taps and mixer showers will find it hard to work correctly.

Thanks Roger, had a look at the threads and will be checking the pressure etc tomorrow, very helpful cheers

Hi, thanks cheecking pressures was my next option, but having read the threads on these expansion vessels I'll look at that first
