removing HEP 2.0 smart sleeve

how do you remove these smart sleeve inserts from an HEP 2.0 pipe

The barbs on the inner end would suggest you can't remove them unless you cut the pipe off around them.

wood axe has always worked for me.

Not really reusable but I have removed em with a pair of grips but it will score the pipe inside so the pipe will need cutting back ?

thanks, i suppose if you were cutting pipes short, it would matter anyway. i was thinking if i cut the pipe, slit it open long ways, could i re-use it? its only 48p in toolstation, but i'd save the time from going to TS to pick them up
