Hi, I have a problem with a cold bath tap. I believe its a problem with the spindle and want to replace it. Unfortunately I can't see any way to remove the top of the tap to get to the spindle etc. I have tried pulling the top off but it won't budge. I can't find any screws or notches to loosen the top. Any help would be appreciated. The following link will show you photos of what I'm dealing with https://www.amazon.co.uk/clouddrive/share/0E8DclPZsBODElVdz1tD9b7CAUxLAk0KMZBRNqKN0KW?v=grid&ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy

I thought it might unscrew, I.e. the very top bit above the gold band. I tried anti clockwise wearing rubber gloves so I could et a good grip but it won't budge. I've spayed wd40 to see it will loosen it so ill wait an hour before trying again, I guess this might be a job for a plumber if can't get it off

The whole head may lever up. Try that and don't be afraid to use force because if you can't get to the innards you need new taps so nothing to lose.

I'd guess the whole head lifts off as I can't see what would unscrew?

Those taps look ancient, you'll struggle to repair spindles etc... Maybe worth changing them over if there's access!

The last set of taps I attempted a repair on like these the heads pulled straight off but they didn't and by the time id managed to get them off the heads where damaged
