Hi folks
I'm trying to remove the valves of my bath mixer taps (they are against the wall). I've tried various DIY spanners, pliers, WD40 etc but it just wont budge.

So are there any tricks or special tools for getting the valve out?

Sorry photo is sideways :)

16mm then if that won't fit try an imperial/ adjustable movie

sometimes quicker to whip the tap off and lock it in a vice, then use body to unscrew it.
hit it with a blow torch and a deepthroat socket!

Deep socket if that fails my trusty mole grips not let me down yet

can't do that redraw (remove the taps etc) . They are fitted against a wall - see photo. If I could remove the taps Id probably just renew them.

They'll come off easy enough if you had used the right spanner. Must be tight fit or it will slip. Those modern tap works are an O ring seal but still are metal to metal tight fit.
Pump plier grips will do and have good leverage, but are rough on the brass.

The valves should come out relatively easy, luckily you have a deck mixer which keeps the bath tap solid allowing more leverage on the valves! I would use my large 12" Bahco spanner.

Sometimes if they are really stubborn, try tightening first then undoing. Worked for me a few times

Notice the video stopped and restarted at the critical moment. The slipping spanner and swearing was cut out. He then went to the van and got a socket to loosen it then pretended

it may be redraw if the deapthroats didnt work¬¬¬pmsl

Crowfoot spanner then a back nut spanner if not junior hacksaw if they're plastic

Hi bit of a weird issue, I installed a grohe bathroom tap successfully 2 months ago bought from screwfix. Last week the right hand hot tap makes a squeak noise as I turn it on or off, left tap is 100% perfect and noiseless. This grohe tap is like one unit, so no screw notch or way I can remove...

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
