non replacable parts

had a muppett (one of many lately) replace a pump on a combi then left and told me job done boiler upa nd running . turned out far from case put pump in boiler still never worked but told me otherwise . As i was totally unaware had a bill come through for part gone to recieve payment and cust says no not paying as it never turned out to be pump . Can i take this part back or is it non replacable item ?

Think you may be stuck with that pump mate. Sorry. Once fitted, you can't return a pump. Would you want it if it was the otherway round?

had a run of it lately of others letting me down and this is another incident of it , was hoping i can take a pump back and not take another hit in the pocket . So far apart from the bull my plumbers/engineers told me i have paid out in wages and breakages etc that they have caused only to have custs come back complain or say not paying . never had a problem when doing it myself ,,,,,,alll frustrating .

I've had to pay out £500 for an aprentice (supplied by a local training centre who called me asking if I'd take him on). He was supposed to be free for X amount of hours a week, and then quit. I unknowingly went over this period of time, and started accumalating a debt for him.

Wouldn't mind but he was useless, and he scratched a load of radiators when I was out picking up materials. (He put the valves on, by flipping the rads over onto the site floor with no protection, and scratched the tops of them. All designer rads.)

They suddenly sent me a bill for £500 after I let him go. Then started court proceedings when I argued the toss. I'm just going to have to pay for the useless, untrained "$%* they sent me.

Such is life as an employer.
You will rarely get someone who will do things to your standards. Sometimes it is not worth the hastle.

Sorry to hear of your carry on Danny. Did you sign a contract with the place before you took him on?
I would never take anyone on for free. Ever.

yeh i always worry when people work for free, sorry about yor experience, but at least you wont make the same mistake again!

thats the problem parts are expensive in this game and if something goes wrong your pocket gets hammered ,,,,wish i was a plasterer !!!

Putting it down to a very expensive lesson learned.

I won't ever get myself in that situation again. The trouble is, if you want to grow your business, you have to trust other people. If they're good enough to work to your standards, they often work for themselves or are already employed!

i would go to court and argue the toss,they never supplied you with a contract,how could you know about this clause? ask them again in writing by recorded delivery for your copy you may be able to get out of paying it
