wrong
A wrong (from Old English wrang – 'crooked') is an act that is illegal or immoral. Legal wrongs are usually quite clearly defined in the law of a state and/or jurisdiction. They can be divided into civil wrongs and crimes (or criminal offences) in common law countries, while civil law countries tend to have some additional categories, such as contraventions.
Moral wrong is an underlying concept for legal wrong. Some moral wrongs are punishable by law, for example, rape or murder. Other moral wrongs have nothing to do with law. On the other hand, some legal wrongs, such as many types of parking offences, could hardly be classified as moral wrongs.
Hi, I am going to a job tomorrow where the customar says they have a 1 inch square valve head (what i would call a fire hydrant valve, maybe theres another name) in a manhole that turns the wrong way ie. Anticlockwise is off and clockwise is on.
I'm in the Midlands and customer says some...
"Hi Mr *****, thankyou for your enquiry but unfortunately I am not able to help any further.
I believe you've found my last five quotes unacceptable and as I quoted to replace the item that is currently faulty in 2021, I can only assume that it will still need replacing.
Quotes are...
Hello all,
I have a WorcesterBosch Greenstar 42CDi classic combi, which is providing DHW fine, but not heating. Was working fine in spring, probably not been used until recently now it's colder.
When heating is called for, the boiler fires up ok but soon shuts down the heater as the...
Hoping for some advice as I seem to be hitting a brick wall.
Moved into a house last year, radiators down strairs (4 of them) never really got warm, replaced the combi boiler this year as it was loud and leaking (its in the loft which has been converted into a room).
Since turning the heating...
Hi All,
I have these heating pipes.
I think I have cleaned them last year and there is a lot of corrosion already.
There isn't any water dripping and there is no dump coming from underneath as the floor is insulated with 25mm Celotex and SuperFoil on top as you can see.
What should I do?
My house was a bungalow that was extended up into the roof, and a bathroom installed up there. The hot water cylinder remains on the ground floor. The mains water pressure is low. A Stuart Monsoon U3 dual pump was installed to pump both hot and cold.
I am thinking that this is the wrong type of...
Can someone please give me a bit of advice here. My hot tap has slowly been twisting the wrong way in recent months. Now it's finally against the wall. I don't want to switch it on for fear I won't get it back off.
The bath is basically attached to the wall so it's next to impossible to get...
Hi
Sorry I can't find my original first post which stated the problem I had with a plumber. To update you all he finally admitted fault and came out last week to rectify the pipe work problem.
Im now left with another issue.. Sigh!
He's probably messed up my motorised valve that feeds the...
The rusty bit with a hole at the top looks quite old, feels flimsy, and is a single skin 100mm x 400mm. The boiler has a 600mm new pipe rising vertically, then a new 135 degree bend (although the paint has come off as you can see), then the rusty pipe, another 135 degree bend which looks very...
Hi all. I recently ordered two separate water filtration systems (the cartridge type) from a local plumbing company. For both installs the pipe size is 3/4". For one of the systems they sent me 1" inlet filters, so I'll need to add a 3/4" to 1" adapter. And for the other install they sent me...
Hi
I have a thermostatic shower valve which has the hot water plugged into the right side and the cold into the left (resulting in scalding hot or freezing cold water), what would be the quickest way to resolved this issue, I have attached pic behind plasterboard ( shower side is tiled over )...
Good morning,
I recently had an extension, new bathroom and new en-suite fitted. Prior to the works the hot water worked.
Now we have moved back we have no hot water. British gas came for 5 hours on saturday and replaced every single part of the boiler to do with the hot water as well as the...
Hi there, I wonder if someone can help - I'm replacing an exposed shower valve but the hot water is on the right and the cold water on the left, when you look from the front at the existing unit.
Looks like all valves are the wrong way round for purchasing a new unit, have I got this right, are...
Please excuse the long story!
so, my central heating kept tripping the fuse in the consumer unit. I read that moisture in the boiler could be the problem and had a look at the flu which, it was evident, had been leaking water into the outer flu and back into the boiler.
I chose the top rated...
Hi
I recently posted a problem I was having with my boiler pressure filling tap not letting in water - didn’t get a reply as per - but I have found out why and that is I had turned the right knob the wrong way hence why the left tap which brings in water wasn’t working.
My question is as I...

I had my boiler pump replaced yesterday as the other one had stopped working. The guy said he had one on the van that would fit and the boiler started working again. Now I'm finding the radiators that are furthest away from the boiler arent getting quite as hot as they were before. The pump he...
Hi, hope I could get some advice here. It's a bit of a diy job here, I have re-done my bathroom shower cubicle, replaced the old concealed shower valve with a new one, complete with new shiny tiles. I did check that water was coming through and no leak, before finishing the tiling. Big rookie...
Hi, I'm really needing some advice please.
I'm trying to connect an instant hot water tap, but haven't got as far as switching the tank on yet. There are 3 water pipes and a rubber tube coming from the tap, hot, cold and cold connection to the tank, then the rubber instant hot water pipe.
