mira 415 runs hot then turns cold ,
combi boiler seems fine,
changed shower cartridge, still not working
any ideas ?

Insufficient flow rate causing the boiler to cycle on and off

Insufficient water pressure causing the boiler to cycle on and off.

Heater not fully modulating.

I have had this problem for 5 years.I have a Mira 415 combiflow BIV shower & a Worcester Bosch 35 cdi fully modulating boiler ( about 12 yrs old & discontinued). We have had British Gas & Worcester engineers trying to solve the problem but to no avail. A plumber recently bought a used shower from Ebay to enable him to change the flow cartridge. It didn't work. He pondered & was sure it was a "flow" problem. He removed the flow regulator from the hot water inlet pipe & EUREKA, for the first time in 5 years we have had continuous hot showers without having to "dodge" cold water every few seconds! Try it. It won't cost you a penny! Good luck!

Hi drainrod. The flow regulator is on the left ( on the hot water inlet pipe). If you have the Mira Combiflow user guide it's on page 34. If you don't have the booklet you can download the pdf file, which actually is better because the diagrams are larger & much easier to view. Our plumber also increased the maximum temperature setting ( page 36) & now we don't use the temperature override button at all.We have had constant lovely hot showers since the plumber came on Monday. I do hope this solves your problem & if it doesn't you haven't lost anything.
