5th floor flats washing machine waste runs internally down to our 3rd floor flats bath waste then further down through to the other side of the house to enter the soil stack on the first floor flat The sink in our bathroom falls internally to the stack at the first floor flat. Also if the bath empties the sink gurgles. The waste is 35 mm. I want to relocate the sink but have been informed all waste pipes would have to be set to Approved document standards. Is this the case?

The kitchen waste branch pipe exits and then falls about 3 to 4 metre to the soil stack. Could I run a branch from the bathroom sink to the kitchen sink branch it would be about 3 metre to the kitchen sink. Or could I run the sink waste into the WC branch this would be about 2.5 m. The WC branch exits and falls about 3 metre to the soil stack.

Seem crazy when compared to Building control but has worked for the past 80 years.

If your pipes gurgle they are not working properly!
Was that really done 80 years ago?
Branches can only be a limited length from the stack without extra venting.
You need a plumber's advice on site.
