Hi All, I have a leaking drain valve off the CW inlet on a Range Cylinder. Am I right in thinking I have to empty the Cylinder below the CW inlet to change the valve? To isolate cold water to the tank to prevent refill, should I just lock off the 1 stop CW inlet or all 3 red stops?
Turn mains water off
Turn boiler off
Isolate water to tank
Run hot and cold taps until stop
Attache hose to drain valve and empty down cylinder.
Replace old drain valve for new.
Open all stops and re fill tank
Re pressure system.
Please find attached photos
Many thanks
Matt

It’s possible, I’m not 100% how these work. So then turn off the cold main, attach a hose pipe and direct into a bucket, open the drain valve if water doesn’t flow, should be ok, if water does flow, keep emptying until water stops flowing.
