At least the waste pipe isn't leaking anymore - it goes nowhere, but it doesn't leak.
Technically, he repaired the leak!

Pity he didn't connect the bog to the 40mm bath waste.
 
Maybe he was teaching his apprentice which will fill first the basin or bath and then just got bored and left.
