Hi People

You hear on here so often about people jacking in their present career for a fresh start and starting up as a plumber, I was just wondering whether there was anyone on here who has jacked in plumbing for something different, or maybe you trained and got qualified in plumbing but for whatever reason circumstances changed and your career headed in another direction. Where have you ended up? and was it the right decision?

Many thanks
T.

Hi The varied skills associated with plumbing / heating produce in general skills and knowledge within the individual that allow the transition to many posts and specialisations within construction and building services and others.
I have know plumbers who have become salesmen, teachers, project managers, handyman, service engineers, the list goes on. But the most successful was a pal who put a professional slant on chimney sweeping. Investing heavily in the right kit, marketing and customer service he made a mint, not by soot alone, but the commissions he earned from the companies he recommended to his customers for chimney repairs, rebuilds, boiler changes, wood stoves, service engineering and alike. He would say plumbing was to clever and that clients demanded to much. I am inclined to agree with him. Good Luck

By the look of some of the jobs I have seen, their a quite a few blind plumbers

De Vinci probably was a fast track plumber,as he only did one job,had a leak and spent the rest of his carrer repainting the ceiling

As regards the telly tubies...how very dear you,I did may refresher last year with la la,bit goby but has all the training required including warm air, think you may be mixing them up with the cheeky girls,
:):)

And I think it was Michaelangelo who painted the ceiling.

Thats what I said Michaelangelo De Vinci :D

your just showing off coz you were on first names
