just a reminder to you all to read the small print on your insurance just had renewal notice for public liability and the excess for claims caused by burning or spark generating tools had been increased from 500 to 2500
also i noticed another clause which doesnt apply to me as im a sole trader but may do to others. when burning equipment is being used there must be a person trained in the use of fire extinguishers appointed as fire watcher SO IF THERES MORE THAN ONE PERSON ON THE POLICY ONE OF YOU CANT WORK ALONE WITH A BLOWLAMP AND BE INSURED
SNEAKY

Their are loads of little bits n bobs on public liability that no one ever checks . a lot won't cover you if you work in a flat and its over 30 ft up.And when you do claim your following years costs rocket up something silly .
Another reason why i am happy doing little bits n bobs now.

You're not really happy tho hammers. Come house bashing with me, just imagine it!

Its almost not worth bothering with....

Maybe I should have small print on my terms and conditions saying "I charge 3 times the amount on my invoice to insurance company owners to claw back the money you steal from me every year".

most of the cheaper policies like simply business do this, use a decent broker for getting a sensible cover, costs a bit more bit will be fair. I use courtprice and have been happy with their cover to date.

I don't bother with insurance myself, I find it's easier and cheaper to change my phone number if I have a claim against me!!

I don't plan to ever use my cover as it's 9/10 times easier to claim its not your fault or get it fixed yourself
