Just completed a new en-suite at home a few weeks ago. tiled all round the base of the shower tray and made a nice job of it too. tonight ive just seen a water mark in the lounge just below, aaarrrhhhhhh
Im pretty sure its from the waste connection, i didnt use silicome as i normally do and i think its dripping, i could kick myself!!
ive drilled a few small pilot holes in the ceiling and tried to silicone around the waste as it is in, there was a lip after putting the thing together,. why didnt i do it in the first place to make sure??? i must be loosing it!

i hope my make shift silicone does the job, if not ill have to cut the ceiling out, easier than ripping up shower tray, tiling, liquid nailed to a self made plinth which stopped me seeing the waste in action anyway

thinkin of replaceing it with a bucket, when its full your clean and you can pour it down the toilet, that doesnt leak....not yet anyway

Have you thought of phoning a local chappie/plumber? You never know what advice you might find on here ...!!!!

I sympathise as I expect you were especially careful with the tiling and everything else and took extra time to do the job properly.

drilled some inspection holes from beneath, defo leaking! will cut out ceiling next opportunity, my lifes juts so busy with work an kids i could have done without, prob summat stupid analll l!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you use end caps and well placed clips you could create a teeter totter effect.

Err!

Don't think your on your own fuzzy. I once stripped a whole BBU and fire front down, cleaned and washed out all the burners and loads of other things, looking for why it would not work.

Turned out some nutter called Bernie had not checked whether it was turned on by the socket, which of course it wasn't. Just one flick and on it went.

That's funny because a couple of weeks ago mother in law's dishwasher was empty had a pool of dirty water in the bottom. (Mother in law unfortunately has dimentia). Helpful dontknowitall waited till she was gone then he emptied the kitchen cupboard, undid the waste pipes, cleaned out ... they were nearly spotless.

Cleaned up, put everything back then turned the dishwasher on to a new programme. Emptied itself. Seems like my dear mother in law had just opened the door and either not waited for it to wash or stopped it halfway through the wash and shoved everything away in cupboards.

Another half hour wasted when all I need to do was try a new programme.

totaly agree with you q the wastes are flimsly and rubbish sometimes i use plumbers mate,not sure if thats good or bad but seems to do the job

im thinking of just sealing the lounge ceiling with silicone, it can then leak as much as it likes!!
i got a feeling its out the bottom of the trap
