Hi, what is the best way of connecting to a cask iron soil pipe tee, to 4ich plastic. At the moment the tee has lead in it leading to the toilet.

Cement plastic collar into collar. Of tee ?

Thanks, I've done it before by putting plastic pipe in to the collar of the tee and putting plumbers mate in the collar around the pipe. Just wondered if this was seen as the correct way of doing this?

I wouldn't use plumbers mate, clean inside of tee first with wire brush, then use a rapid set cement to put 4" plastic into the bell of the cast

Rope and plumbers mate is fine, it's exactly what it's designed for, and as it's flexible it will be fine

I pack the joint out with rope before packing in the plumbers mait, probably just an old habit of using rope when we run lead into the joints

Thanks I just wondered if using plumbers mate to do this was seen as a bodge or not. I have to connect on to a tee on a cast iron stack that runs up though the garage of a house with the tee in the garage and the cast iron stack exiting the roof of the garage. I don't want to replace the stack so I don't have to mess around with resealing the roof.
