Hi, our Valiant Turbomax pressure is above the 3 bar mark, we've tried reducing it using the key underneath but to no avail. I'm going to try bleeding the radiators next but my question is is it safe to use in the meantime? Am going to call the council out tommorow if it doesn't work, but will it explode or something terrible if I use the radiators tonight?! Not sure if it's an urgent job and don't want to call the emergancy number if not. Thanks!

call them out, boiler wont blow up,but prv will operate and empty boiler,so boiler will stop working

as you said "bleed the pressure off via your radiator air vent back to approx 1.5 bar
keep an eye on the water pressure guage maybe the filling loop v/v is passing. In which case call out the council guy

Thanks all, bled rads so it down to 2, will lower to 1.5 and if it doesn't stabilise will call council.

Thanks again.

should be 1-1.5 when cold ,if hot you may be around 2.5 bar, keep a eye on it as if hot, when cools may drop to low :)

and also 'the key underneath' is the filling loop adding more preasure to the system.
ensure it is of fully.
