Yeah a good shout, but like you said I am thinking maybe someone has tampered with a gate valve somewhere or another...... although the customers swears blind they haven’t.... the weird thing is I went to the property 5 days ago as 1 radiator wasn’t working, I released the trv pin and it warmed up immediately!!!!
I pulled the magna clean pushfit fittings off and checked to see the valve open and closeAnd the magnacleanse valve is definitely open and not blocked. Easy way to tell would be loosen the magnclean valve nut at the bottom and move slightly off the olive. I've had those snap internally... Though that was on the old ones to be fair.
Don’t understand sorryHow about linking out the heating system entirely to rule out the boiler. I know it's work but you'd know for sure then.
Think he means cut f & r coming off boiler and loop them to see if that alone heats. If it doesn’t it’s inside the boilerDon’t understand sorry
Removed both valves and checked they were both openArnt them valves on the boiler closed I’ve had a few where the handles round and don’t do anything
cut into the flow & return low down and link them together to make a very small circuit. If the link doesn't get warm then the blockage is in the boiler.Don’t understand sorry
But that wouldn't explain why he's getting no water through the bottom valve leading to the magna clean.cut into the flow & return low down and link them together to make a very small circuit. If the link doesn't get warm then the blockage is in the boiler.
Exactly....... Accrington Stanley lolBut that wouldn't explain why he's getting no water through the bottom valve leading to the magna clean.
Oh yeah forgot about that. Got to be a blockage in the system then. Most likely where Craig said in that elbow with the red ring round it.But that wouldn't explain why he's getting no water through the bottom valve leading to the magna clean.
He said he's checked itThis post beggars belief, unless I have missed something, no water is getting through the magna clean valve. ,!!!!! Start there .
Both magna clean isolation valves do open...... the pictures shows the top valve closed, when opened water be flows out of the magna clean, the bottom valve is in the open position and actually opened but no water flows out.... I have checked it with the magna cleaned removed ....This post beggars belief, unless I have missed something, no water is getting through the magna clean valve. ,!!!!! Start there .
No I haven’t great shout, will do that tomorrow.Sorry I misread that too have you run a magnet down that pipe
Why not using a wet vac once you took the filter of the nuts? You could leave the top one closed bottom one open and and try sucking out. Once water is coming close off and re install the filter. No I haven’t great shout, will do that tomorrow.
No pointing upwards, they have been removed and checked to be in the open position...... zzzzzzzzzz sleep timeAre the flow and return iso’s Pointing towards you?
On an Ideal I thought that they had to be pointing towards you for flow to be achieved? No pointing upwards, they have been removed and checked to be in the open position.... zzzzzzzzzz sleep time
Still not working mate, system unblocked but still no difference, Ideal call out advised, I will make sure that I am present when they turn up!!!!So what was the outcome of this one @Jacko ?
Hey did they come out yet? Could the diverted body inside be jammed to dhw? Therefore stopping flow round heating circuit?Still not working mate, system unblocked but still no difference, Ideal call out advised, I will make sure that I am present when they turn up!!!!
I was thinking that but I removed the DV motor and manually pushed in the pin fully but still no different....... the customer is not prepared to call out Ideal so we may never know?????Hey did they come out yet? Could the diverted body inside be jammed to dhw? Therefore stopping flow round heating circuit?
Oh well if customer isnt bothered then they will call someone else (if not you) when it gets cold againI was thinking that but I removed the DV motor and manually pushed in the pin fully but still no different... the customer is not prepared to call out Ideal so we may never know?????
Hmmm seems daft.[/
True but if someone repairs the boiler then I will never know what was the problem and would have spent a lot of time for nothing ..Oh well if customer isnt bothered then they will call someone else (if not you) when it gets cold again
Will never know the customer got another plumber in who replaced her boiler.... all that work checking valves on magna and boiler all for nothing, it’s not getting paid that’s the pain it’s not knowing what the fault wasSo what was the outcome of this one @Jacko ?
Do you not charge for fault finding? Will never know the customer got another plumber in who replaced her boiler.. all that work checking valves on magna and boiler all for nothing, it’s not getting paid that’s the pain it’s not knowing what the fault was
I do but on this occasion as I was not 100% sure what the fault was I didn’t....... I don’t have a call out charge I have a diagnostic charge. If I don’t the fault there is no chargeDo you not charge for fault finding?
