She will be surprised. :p
Not sure how she will take it.
Flowers for to keep her happy though

Brave?
Daft?
Suicidal?

You choose! :eek::eek::eek:

Sadly we get each other nothing - our charm, wit & lardie bums keep us warm :(:(:(
She says 'Jump', I shout 'How Hi?' Yes, a marriage made in her heaven :D

Hello Best,

A few years ago a Friend`s Wife gave me a Recipe book in the Pub that without me noticing was as You described for - `Low Fat Meals` / `Diet Meals`.

When I took it home my Wife who was not overweight [or `paranoid` about Her weight] questioned me on the `motive` behind the Gift even though the woman who gave me the Book was a good friend.

I had been speaking to my Friend and his Wife about cooking Chilli mince / Chilli Con Carne and Curry`s so they found the Recipe Book and gave it to me as the recipes gave details on how to cook that type of Meal with a lower fat content that usual.

My Friend`s Wife was very weight concious which is why she had originally bought the book.

My Wife like perhaps a lot of women probably did think for a moment that her friend might have been `hinting` something - I have seen similar thoughts many times with other Women that I know.

Just a quick Joke about a Weight Loss Cookbook Recipe:

My sisters and I have weight problems and are always sharing diet tips. One day my oldest sister was showing us a low-fat cookbook and pointed out a chicken dish she had tried the night before. Reading the ingredients, I commented, “It looks like it would taste really bland.”

“It did,” she replied, “until I added cheese and sour cream.”

Good Luck with your Valentines gift Best.

Chris

:p So it is true you Yorkshire folk are a bit tight!
I am hoping that the book doesn’t make her think I am expecting her to lose a lot of weight. Besides, she is used to my dry humour.

That is the sort of book I bought.
She is trying to lose weight, but isn’t much overweight, although losing a stone of weight would not make her thin, if you know what I mean.
Trouble is, even in her own words, if she loses weight it will be from the parts that she wants to keep some fat. And I agree with that. ;)

Going to take my Wife out to a sushi restaurant. To be fair Gary nothing wrong with a book like this. It depends on her Humor :) I never buy flowers in London well too expensive.. 3 roses cost me a fortune ... could almost get 2 meals for it.

My missus despises valentines day even more than I do, one of the many reasons why almost 13yrs have flown by together. Xmas is the only one of the 'events' she cares about (she never even remembers date we got together, although does remember the date we got our first dog ) whereas left to my own accord I'm quite the scrooge but make the effort for her on that day.

My woman does expect some sort of gesture every St Vals day, but to be fair to her she isn’t too demanding.

Romantic gestures is beyond my understanding, - I really have no clue.
I try hard each year to find a card that just says on it something unemotional like “Happy Valentines Day”.

From I knew her I did get her the usual card and gift each year, so if I ever stopped, questions will be asked. :)

Nothing wrong with saying something romantic. It’s nice to hear sometimes romantic things. You have a clue you just put up with the easiest which is I haven’t got a clue. If you really wanted to make an effort you would definitely find a way :)
