Great thread. I'll add a few - Amiga computers, the peel off ring pulls on cans of drink, dual steering road sweep trucks (amazed me when I used to see them when I was a kid!)

Kids playing knock down ginger, people driving with side doors open on van in the summer, someone knocking on the door to do the pools

Privets.

Vans signwritten by hand.

Spangles
Austin Allegros
Pint of mildAlsatians......now German shepards for some reason
Subbuteo

Hubba Bubba blue bubble gum drink from the 80's..yes!

That was amazing stuff! I'm gutted they stopped making it. I was never aloud bubblegum as a kid and that was the next best thing!

Terry Nappies. Not a bad thing, especially when they need changing.

On a plumbing theme. Pudlocks, Tallow, mole skins and plumbers metal, not forgetting the black.

The little midget carrying sacks of spuds on his humped back in St Johns shopping centre in Liverpool. Used to hide behid my mum when he appeared.

Shoot the footy mag

Oh wow, remember that as a kid.

Another thing you don't see is the local fields heaving with parents cheering their kids on. Every street had its own footy team when I was a kid.

I feel old all of a sudden, only 36. :(

When we was kids, you played footy any minute you got chance.

3 an inn, heads an vols !!!

Kids nowadays got no go in them, rather sit on their arse on their play station or smoke weed

Thankfully my boy is football mad, forever got a ball at his feet, and youngest is looking same way too. Most parents are happy for kids to sit on computers all day as means they don't have to get off their own fat arses or entertain them

Tripe. Never had it myself but my dad would have it every now and then I remember the weird smell it had - think they banned it when every one started getting mad cows disease.

Commando books.

The old guy next door still cooks up tripe for his greyhounds. You never forget the smell of it.

Can anyone recommend a decent multi meter, preferably under a 100 pounds. It's for checking boiler components so I don't need a top spec one ....just easy to use and reliable. The fluke 115 looks good but its above my budget. My current socket and see one was great but it's developed a fault.

Recently had a Viessmann Vitodens combi boiler installed, quite often when the adjacent cold mixer tap is opened the boiler starts for a few seconds! Can anyone tell me what is causing this? And how to cure?
