Hi everyone

my machine started smelling really bad and after a poke around I found that there was a load of foul smelling water hanging around in the drain outlet at the bottom left of the machine. I cleaned all this out, tipped the machine forward to clear it all, and thought I'd sorted it!

only a couple of washes later and the smell is back. Opened the outlet and again it's full of stale smelly water. Doesn't appear to be any blockages. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

It'll be a hairgrip, or button or one of those collar stiffeners somewhere in the drain hose. If you can't get to it by poking around with an opened-out wire coat hanger then best to call a professional in.

If you do poke around, make sure the machine is fully disconnected from the mains, not just switched off, and BE CAREFUL poking anything up the hoses - they are rubber and although pretty strong, they can be punctured..

Thanks for helping me out so quickly! I've checked the drain hose and nothing in there. Given it a good flush through with the hose pipe too and it's running freely.

ive noticed when I've drained all the smelly water out of the bottom, the Miele manual says to make sure the impeller is moving freely. When I turn this it doesn't spin right round as such but seems to have a point that 'catches' on each revolution if this makes sense? Should it do that or might that be the problem?

Thanks again, really appreciate your help :)

sounds like there is something stuck which is stopping the impeller spinning freely. time to get a WM engineer out I think

Understand there is a filter cap, remove that and look for anything around the impeller or in the bowl, worth cleaning the filter if you haven`t already.

I used my LG ThinQ front loader washing machine for the first time this morning. Just to wash some pocketless shirts, so I'm sure there was nothing in there that could have fallen out. Now, however, the washer is making a metallic scratching/ twanging sound every few seconds, even though it is...

Hi, all. I have a leak problem behind the washing machine. It's a pipe that is leaking directly into a drain. It used to drip but now is leaking a steady stream without stopping. Seems to be coming from water heater but I cannot tell. It is cold water. When I turn off the main water supply, it...
