Hello
New to this plumbing bizzo and looking for some advice before I call someone out. I need a new circulating pump for my central heating system. The original one overheated due to having spent 5 years surrounded by towels etc! :stooge_moe: and is now bin-worthy. I remember the old one cost about 55 quid and it`s a Terrier which are apparently nla? Can`t remember how much I was charged however, and was looking for some idea from you professionals?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Are you asking the labour charge for fitting a central heating pump?

How much to fit a pump?

how longs a piece of string? There are two may variables, as with any job. Depends on area, location of pump, if valves are required, the list is endless.

Bog Standard pump change is usually 1 hours labour but how often are things bog standard? Last pump change I did turned into 3hours as when I went to fill back up there was a blockage in the cold feed, ended up cutting out and replacing most of the pipe work.

OK. I`m in Bristol? The pump is in an upstairs bedroom, very easy and simple access? No valves need replacing. That`s the end of my list. :smile5:

Everything is very easy then.....

get a plumber to have a look and do the job.
I've heard "easy job" a load of times.

I said the access was very simple and easy. That`s it.

Pump prices have rocketed. You now have to use a smart pump which alters its own performance according to temperature and loading
