Hi all. How many of you honestly remove the meter when having to adapt pipework??

just those with no eyebrows lol

Reason I ask is due to the company I work with don't unless it's right next to the meter.

Every time when soldering anywhere on the line, never when using compression

Why not if its a compression? I know source of ignition won't be there but tutor was saying its to do with allowing a larger amount of air into the pipework.

never removed one when doing a cooker point unless its close to meter!

Only when soldering onto the union, well if the tail is held in the cradle via the groove and held by those snap off bolts and washers.

And using my crocodile earth lead
