drips'n'shiz

Went to replace a torbeck ballvalve and it had a 10mm brass inlet, the 15mm i had with me didnt fit the cistern, Are these common? ive never seen one before, i cant seem to find one doing a search online, i did try swapping tne internals but that didnt work :0( can anyone help? thanks

Not come across that before (but I've not been around for years).

Can't you renew the pipework to 15mm then fit?

10mm? Is that coming off the heating circuit?

Its the actual torbeck thats 10mm not the pipework, which is 15mm with a 10mm reducer

In that case I'd change it for a 15mm one. Not worth all the time and trouble trying to fit it.

imho

It would have been 3/8" Quite common. A lot of continental stuff is this size.

Jst typed that into google it didnt come up with anything. do they stock 10mm torbecks in plumbers merchants? not in screfix or B&Q??

You probably need to go to the manufacturers to get a replacement.

its a 3/8'', got a couple from screwfix.

Brilliant!!! i didnt see them on their website, if screwfix do them then the small merchants will. oh thank god for that, its always the little jobs you do after work as a favour that go **** up isnt it?!

The best way to deal with this, if it's a plastic cistern, is to drill the hole through the cistern out to suit the 1/2" torbeck valve. you can do that in minutes, certainly alot quicker than running back to the merchants to change the torbeck valve for a 3/8" valve. It's always better to do the job on the first visit.
