Please can someone suggest a fix for this:
I recently fitted a boiling water tap which also meant fitting a whole-house pressure pump (house is all gravity fed as we have a well supply). Initially everything worked fine.
Now, 6 months later the toilet has started vibrating, it's coming from...
Just moved into a place and there seems to be a slight trickle into the bowl ( picture attached), initially when i took the top off the water level was about 1-2 inchs above the 6L mark, from researching it looks like i have a torbeck valve ( theyre problematic from what ive read!), i took the...
Hi all.
I got home this evening and found that my toilet cistern was barely filling up so I turned off the mains, managed to unscrew the torbeck valve and gave it a clean as there seemed to be a lot of grime and grit in and around the pinhole looking valve. Put it all back on and it fills up at...
Not sure how they work. Got a feeling their being equilibrium valves (?) has something to do with it. Just noticed lifting up the arm manually doesn't stop them. So if can't turn off water and someone has put one in a fortic you can't tie up the ball valve to isolate the water then? Is there are...
Guys , a long shot but does anybody know where I could get hold of an old torbeck bottom entry fill valve. The new adjustable ones with the brass thread wont fit .
Thank you
Ok we are northbound M6 & bored spotting Stobart Trucks for money (as we do).
So I asked in the back and our following truck how does a Torbeck valve really operate ?
We must have bought and fitted 1000s - no one knew - we just fit them.
Do tell...................centralheatking :cowboy:
First of all let me mention torbecks, yes the fluid master are better especially the brass bottom ones,
However these don't always go into the cistern. I fitted a few torbecks in the last few months and have had at least a 50% failure rate within about 2 months!
Not happy with this I spoke to...
hi guys just a quick question replaces a torbeck valve today fitted it fine no problems put the conical washer facing down tightened up the back-nut however it still kept weeping no matter how tight i done it although i was careful not to overtighten it any ideas? maybe a bead of silicone?
Went to replace a torbeck ballvalve and it had a 10mm brass inlet, the 15mm i had with me didnt fit the cistern, Are these common? ive never seen one before, i cant seem to find one doing a search online, i did try swapping tne internals but that didnt work :0( can anyone help? thanks

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I have a problem with a trickle of water constantly filling in the toilet bowl. I've looked in the cistern and it seems to be consistently filling/trickling out of what i've located as a Torbeck Bottom Entry Cistern Float Valve. The water level fills up but not...

Fitted a new Torbeck inlet valve to toilet cistern a couple of days ago. Appeared to work perfectly - no noise or vibration at all when shutting off. But 24 hours later it's producing a loud thump in the pipes (pipe hammer?) every time the valve shuts off.
The valve is fed directly from the...
I fitted a shower pump a year ago. The extra draw of water from the cold tank was churning up some lime scale at the bottom of the tank this at one point (a few months later) stopped the WC torbeck valve from stopping and filled cistern to overflow. Unluckily wasps had made a nest in the...

Hi everyone
I am going to change a bottom entry torbeck in a wc as its not filling the cistern after flushing, keep having to push the arm down to fill. Do they have the similar inners to the standard ball float valves as i will take it apart before i replace it or is it better to just...
