inlet
An inlet is an indentation of a shoreline, usually long and narrow, such as a small bay or arm, that often leads to an enclosed body of salt water, such as a sound, bay, lagoon, or marsh.
I have recently moved into a village house and discovered some mold on the wall behind the kitchen unit and following a closer inspection, I am concerned about the water inlet and its entry point.
There is a hole in what I think is the original floor, with some loose rock etc around the water...
Afternoon all,
It appears my toilet inlet pipe has developed a leak at on of the top 2 joints (between plastic pipe into toilet and between copper pipe with isolator screw) I'll attach pic.
Just wondering what the fitting is that I need.
Thanks,
G
I'm trying to remove the zone valve ion vented tank and the tank started leaking around the joint.
I was hoping to just run the tank with immersion till I can get an unvented.
Any tips to stop leaks or do you think I need to buy temporary tank.
Any help appreciated as I'm without hot water now.

I have a mixer shower with standard 15cm inlet pipe spacing designed to accept vertical (downward) inlet pipes. The plumbing from my wall has two inlet pipes at the right (15cm) spacing, but they emerge straight out from the wall horizontally instead of descending vertically. Can anyone...
Hi, in order to replace the solenoid on my shower I need to take it off the wall (bad shower design).
I've got all the electrics disconnected, it's detached from the wall itself and I've unscrewed where the water pipe from the wall connects to the shower inlet (I'm sorry I don't know the right...
Hi
My washing machine is 5m away from the water mains copper pipe/valve. I've currently got a long blue inlet hose connecting the washing machine to the copper pipe/valve.
Is this OK or should I get more copper pipe added and then use a shorter blue in let hose to connect the 2?
Hi,
I’ve recently had my washing machine connected however the chap who installed it said the water inlet pipe connected has a larger head thus resulting in the valve not turning resulting in no water or low pressure water.
What can I do to rectify this?
About to install a new Mira Platinum on a gravity fed system. The Installation Manual shows the pipework from top of hot water tank coming off at 45 degrees. Can I just T off the existing horizontal hot water pipe at top of hot water tank or even from the vertical pipe going down the back of the...
Not on the hot but whenever a cold tap is ran in the bathrooms or toilet flushed the two cold water pipes reverberate round the house.
The cold mains and the balanced cold.
We changed the water inlet valve with PRV last week but the problem has come back quickly.
Is the street pressure too...
Hi everyone, thanks for your time reading this!
We have noticed a leak appearing from the built-in toilet in our main bathroom that's spreading around our floors (great start to the year!). I've removed the panel behind the flusher and can see the water inlet attaching to the Cistern is slowly...
Hello all! First post on here. I'm newly qualified - could anyone tell me if there is an absolute minimum acceptable gas inlet pressure at the boiler? I understand refer to MIs, make sure it's safe and not affecting any other appliances, but if it's below manufacturers recommendation, correct at...
Heatslave II 25/32 water leak from PHE Inlet block. When DHW PRV fitting was removed a white flat seal/washer was found in 3 pieces. This seal is not listed on any diagram. It sits ahead of the rubber o ring item 45 on drawing and has has the same ID and OD as the oring but is made from white...
The hole in the slab for cold water shower tap inlet is 1200mm away from where it needs to be. Is this a problem?
The bathroom is on the second storey (concrete slab) and it looks like the builders may have put the plumbing for the shower inlet about 1200mm away from where it needs to be. Is...
Hi.
I think the title says it all really.
I was just lining up pipework and stuff and noticed that the Speedfit 15mm X 1/2 BSP tap connector won't connect to the cistern inlet because the inlet filter protrudes out too far to allow the rubber washer on the connector to sit against the outer...
Help. This is the second time the fibre washer on the ball valve inlet has split and flooded the house. It's a recent tank. First time tit happened I assumed the valve was defective and replaced it. But obviously not. I think the tank just has to much flex.
The (plastic) backing plate seems...
The usual problem of quarter turn inlet valves not shutting off, so I eventually found replacement diaphragms 32mm... and although they fit properly, the water still does not shut off. If I lift the float up I'd have thought the water should shut off but it makes no difference. So I tried the...
Main water inlet pipe stopcock seized. Have tried freeing it to no avail so looking to replace it. It's very old as you can see on the attached pictures. I've bought a 25mm stopcock and have a 1" to 22mm reducer. I can't get the reducer to fit over the black pipe as pictured and I'm beginning to...
Hi everyone,
First time poster, go easy on me!
My toilet cistern seems to be overfilling. It's a narrow plastic cistern (not important I imagine) and thankfully the overflow pipe is doing its job. The floating mechanism is working in that it's moving up and down, though it has a lot of...
