Trying to change bathroom radiator valves but I can’t get the old olive/nut off… any advice?
Also the small plastic part next to the pipe, will I need to put that back in before fitting new valve? (Complete novice)
Hello,
Can anyone give any advice please? Our bathroom radiator won’t heat up. It’s a column radiator from Victorian Plumbing - only 2 years old - and has manual cross-head angled valves.
it’s been like this for a while and we are trying to fix it. We’ve previously removed the radiator and...
My bathroom radiator is very hot in a small room and I would like to shut it off but can’t work out how. There are two valves one at each side at the bottom with a small prong sticking out of each one. I don’t know what the difference is between them or even if that is what I have to turn or how!
Hello,
My current installation is an 8Kw Morso Stove, about 20 years old, connected to:
An indirect coil in a vented cylinder (on the ground floor where the heater is, but raised by about 80cm), gravity fed with a bathroom towel rail upstairs also gravity fed.
Once the gravity circuit is up...

I'm trying to connect new radiator in my bathroom. I want to use flexible hoses but am unsure of the connector types and sizes. Would like to order both hoses from Ebay but don't want to assume somenthing and later end up with hoses that...
Hi all,
Could someone with a little more experience than me please confirm my understanding, as I have not seen many of these in the field.
I have heard that some systems, particularly older systems, tee in the bathroom rad into the primary circuit. Is this done simply by teeing into the...
I have an old oil fired central heating system.
I keep the hot water/central heating permanently on all year round. And at this time of year the thermostats on the radiators are set to zero or one/two.
Because the water is constantly on it means the bathroom radiator that is connected to the...

Hi. The problem I have is the bathroom getting too hot.
I have a Potterton Suprima 40L boiler. I've found the Installation guide online which says that there must be a by-pass which allows 2gal/min. My bathroom radiator is the only one without a thermostat. My question is, should the valves...

Hi all,
My bathroom radiator is heated via the hot water cylinder - I'm not sure if this is just to heat towels when Heating is off or its for a requirement for the cylinder?

OK, our bathroom radiator is connected to the hot water system, ie it comes on when the hot water is on even though the central heating is off. My question is can i switch it off? It seems to get 'super' hot and the water is only mildly hot, when i turned the radiator off for 10 mins the water...

The radiator which is sitting here waiting to be fitted but wasn't before we moved in (Wonder why!), has the holes exactly 550mm apart.
Is it a case of...
People talk about how their bathroom radiator or heated towel rail is plumbed into the hot water rather than the central heating circuit. This means when the central heating is off the radiator can still get hot (to dry towels etc).
How is this achieved?
Does the radiator have to be plumbed...
