I was called out today to an overflowing toitet cistern. The float valve is like a steel rod with a float valve which is like an oval with flat sides and the initials t c on it. The rod pushes downwards onto the diaphragm.

The diaphragm is exactly the same as a standard ball valve diaphragm but only about 1cm in diameter.

Unfortunately my phone was out of charge so I can't provide a picture.

I have spun the diaphragm round and it seems to be working ok but it is very worn. I would normally have swapped it for a fluidmaster float valve but the cistern is so tall and narrow I'm not sure one would fit and unfortunately I didn't have one with me. The custard was going on holiday this afternoon so I didn't have time to do anything else but instructed him to turn the water supply off at the isolation valve before he went to be on the safe side.

Has anyone ever come across one of these weird diaphragms and, if so, can you advise where to get one?

I have checked all over the internet and can't find it.

I'm afraid not Chalked, but tghanks anyway.

I think I will have to change the float valve completely, it's just finding one that fits.
