Got to plumb outlet from washing machine into open vertical length of 110mm plastic pipe at floor level. Any suggestions for best way of doing this? Presume I'll need a trap? Use 40mm stand pipe and u-bend? How best to join to 110mm and cap the 110 pipe?

Do these adapters work?

Yes they go into a fitting tho

Or you can use a strap on boss / mechanical boss

You say an open vertical pipe, can you be certain it’s not a vent pipe for the drains? Or is just a short piece of waste doing nothing, if so is it connected to anything?

These questions need to be thought of

Cheers

A photo at this point might be useful, to try and determine exactly what it is. If it’s open, then why? Was there one there before and you’re renewing?

Yes. It was put in byoriginal plumber at first fix and planned as washing machine outlet. Appreciate the warning though!

New extension. Pipe put in by original plumber with washing machine in mind. No photos sorry - too dark - but just looks like 75mm of 110 pipe coming out of floor@

One of these might be better as it’s above ground, but you will definitely need to trap it to stop smells.

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
