Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. We have an excellent Valient ecotec plus 837 boiler controlled by a Honeywell wireless programmable thermostat controller.
The system at the moment seems very noisy, principle problem is when it is turned to manual and the target temperature is set at 23C the heating is on for approx 5 minutes then turns itself off for a couple of minutes then on again (repeating itself) - it does this without being anywhere near the target temperature.
Do we need to get it checked out or is there a simple problem to be solved here?

Many thanks for any advice.....

Adam

Check all of your trv's are set to number 5. Also feel the flow pipe. See if it gets warm

Sounds like you might have a circulation problem

If this is the first time you have run your heatin since the summer you may have stuck trv's

check the water pressure is ok for a start. when the boiler initially fires it is a bit noisier than normal but it settles down. I assume your hot water works absolutely fine? As above sounds like a flow issue. The heating flow and return isolation valves on the underside of the boiler are fully open i assume?
