Hi,
sorry if this is a particularly dumb question. The exposed thermostatic valve in my shower finally failed and I managed to find a replacement with the bigger 3/4" inlets. Having finally managed to get the old shower valve off (had to drill out the grub screws!) I've realised that the hot and cold water copper pipes feeding the valve are 3/4" - the old unit's inlet valves seem to be a full inch in diameter to accommodate the 3/4" copper. I've searched on the net and can't even find a shower valve with one inch inputs! So my question is can a plumber convert the ends of my copper pipes to a smaller diameter so the pipes will fit my new valve? There is a couple of inches of copper to play with before the pipes disappear into the wall.
