I've just purchased a Solus IT500 to replace a Glow-Worm Mastermind controller.
The heating system heats hot water in a tank in the loft using gravity feed.
The radiators are driven from a pump.
The old controller mechanically ensured the Ho****er was on if the CentralHeating was on.
I've wired the IT500 CH side to the pump and the AUX side to the boiler.
Now I have to ensure (by the programming) that Ho****er is on whenever I require CentralHeating.
That in itself isn't too bad but if I want to overide (turn on) the CH outside of a Ho****er period I also need to turn on the Ho****er.
Have I wired this correctly ?
Do I need something extra to turn on the boiler if either CH or HW is on ?

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Eric

Without altering your heating stem to a "c" plan you can't control your hot water. Far easier on your current system to just use the it500 to control heating times and temp.

you can not use on this system as gravity feed and you need the micro switch in a hot water motorized valve set up to allow indirect current to boiler, better spending your money on updating system...which is presently very inefficient and would pay for its self over a few years to be up dated any way with the cost of fuel as it is

Perhaps my description of my system/setup wasn't clear or what I was trying to achieve. I suspect I've now achieved what I wanted to. I'll try and describe the new setup.
As before the CH side of the controls drive the CH pump. I have live on the CH CO and the pump is connected to CH NO.
The AUX (hot water) side is different. The boiler is connected AUX CO, live is on AUX NO and Aux NC is linked to CH CO. So if the Salus AUX(hot water) is not on, the boiler is on when the pump is on.
The comment about efficiency I agree with, but about 6 months ago I had gas plumber/fitter round to talk about a replacement heating system and he advised me to carry on with the old for now.
Thanks for the comments
Eric
