How much do you pay for a waste carriers licence? How much does it cost you to get rid of the rubbish? Or if you don't do it yourself how do you get rid of it. I interstate on big jobs, it would be worth getting a skip. But on smaller jobs where you still get lots of rubbish how do you dispose of it? Thanks.

I have the free one.

Big jobs get a skip on site.

Small jobs, any waste comes back to my garage for sorting and then I get a skip a few times a year to dispose of it all.

Like above.
I have the free licence, price in a skip on larger jobs. Talk to customer before and see if they want to dispose ( difficult now as most tips charge for certain waste).
An Electritian mate of mine who has three guys working for him hire one of those large bins, he keeps it at his yard and the company ( Biffa)picks it up every two weeks for £80 a month. If I had the space I would do it too.
Waste is a cost theses days, so you have to add it into jobs.

What's the difference between free licence and the one you pay for?

Same here with the free one, the local tip charge £152 per tonne for rubbish (plus you have to jump through hoops paperwork wise) and the local scrappie charges £130
They have a waste recycling yard on the side of the scrap yard, so just drive in, weigh and dump
IIRC the free license is just a basic version which just allows you to carry your own rubbish, the others allow maybe more rubbish or other peoples to be carried?
Don't know for definite, but check on the gov website, it'll all be there

Anyone who carries waste from building works, including plumbers, must register for the higher tier licence. Iirc it's something like £150 for three years.

Have to agree, just had a look at the government website. So I'll need to get this, then work out where to dispose of the rubbish.

It's just another tax for the small contractor.

For bigger jobs I have a skip on site, old boilers I strip off any non-ferrous and leave outside, the metal pixies disappear it for me. Other waste I take to my mate who permanently has a skip on his drive. I bung him a few quid each time and we're both happy.

I tell the customer its X amount for a skip
Or I'll bag the rubbish and leave it in the garden for them to dispose of themselves

And on smaller jobs it goes into there bin or if it wont fit I tell them its x amount for a skip or dispose of themselves.

If I've got a big job on the go and I do a small job on the side sometimes I just take the rubbish to the skip on the big job

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
