Hi

Am hoping someone can give me good and sensible advice on this idea I have.

I am hoping to remove a current wall hung concealed cistern and pan from my cousin's home to be resused in my new cloakroom.

Firstly, is that possible? And how troublesome is it? And secondly, is it worth the money and effort?

I am not a plumber so will be getting someone in to do it.

The concealed wall hung pan and cistern is of good make and is hardly 2 years old and gets very little use but they are remodelling their home so are getting rid of everything.

If it's a decent one you should be alright but do replace all the rubber seals and washers and refit the components.

You may find plumbers are reluctant to use second hand gear, at the very least they will make it clear they're not responsible for any breakages or malfunctioning equipment. I can foresee a problem if something goes wrong a few months down the line and your plumber is likely to blame it on the second hand gear.

most of us wouldnt have a problem re using a pan and cysten of that age as previously said expect any problems to be charged for as we cant be sure its all going to be fine the second time round

No problem at all. I would just add the cost of a nice new fill valve & flush valve. With seals etc. £40.00 usually does it. A new flush pipe seal is a must and possibly a flush pipe as it is cut to size in the original location although if it goes in the same way it should be ok. China ware is as good as new. I would have no problem doing the job on these terms.

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
