Hi, we have a sewage pump in a small septic tank that pumps to a shared Klargester about 50 meters away. Our pump broke after a power surge and has been a chaotic experience to get it replaced. So, I'm thinking about a backup plan for when/if the new pump breaks. The tank is so small it fills up in a day.

I'm thinking of having a second tank behind the shed and using some kind of portable pump to empty the mai one so we can at least flush toilets etc while waiting for the main pump to be replaced.

Anyone know what kind of pumps will do this? I've seen plumbers use portable pumps to empty overflowing sewage drains but no idea what they are.
