I recently tried to replace the diaphragm on a multi point gas water heater. I think it was a chaufetau( Spelling?) I could not get the diaphragm housing to seal. I made several attempts to no avail. I then put the housings together without the diaphragm and I could a gap of about 0.7mm.
Is this common for this heater? any suggestions on how I could have resolved the problem?

are you sure you have the right diaphragm, or is facing the right way round :p, any time i have ever changed a diaphragm it is an easy fit with no leaks, but i do remember some of the old vokera ones were slightly different and leaked if you got the wrong one

The diaphragm fits into the housing rim, should be no problem, maybe you have wrong diaphragm or one made in china, never had a problem

The diaphragm was correct. In fact I bought two from a reputable source.Including a new housing rim. But neither worked. I was surprised, I have never had this problem with other boilers.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
