On Saturday i was taking my boy swimming in the van when a custard came up an asked if i could look at his small problem with his cylinder compression fitting. I said no problem see you Monday.......

Arrive Monday, see a few compression had come away an a bent pipe so fixed an thought this looks like damage from previous tenants (didn't know next bit)

Ok back story.... The house was rented an from Nov-Feb was left empty. The agents turned off the water.

Turn on the water, cistern fills up..... Water starts pouring down behind the walls in the down stairs toilet. Oh dear.....

This is just the beginning... pipe had split half way up wall, ripped plaster board wall out an fixed. Next shower leak, half way up pipe behind lovely tiles the pipe had a split, fixed. Central heating pipes under the floorboards had a split, fixed. Boiler heater exchanger has broken and has flooded the garage....

3 hours has turned into 5 days plus a boiler swap..... Thank god i was quiet this week. An thank you Lord of Snow an freezing weather.

Thats my ramble over, if you made it to the end well done hahahahahahaha

Just set up on my own 4 weeks ago so just building up my business. Was a right result!!!

What wally leaves the systems full of water and no heating. Reminds me of a hard winter here when I was going away for 10 days and a friend was joining me in Germany. He thought I was daft leaving my heating to come on for 2 hours twice a day and water for 1/2 hour twice a day. He just turned his water off.

When we got home he had some burst pipes but also 3 radiators had split. I don't know why his lounge had also flooded but it had.

i turn my water off every time i go away (it is a bit annoying for the wife and kids, but hey ho:p) you can get a leak anytime and it will cause some mess, i have been called to a couple of houses where the china cistern had split and was flooding the house, imagine the damage from that if it happens an hour after you leave for the airport, i turn my water off in the summer when we are away, and in the winter i turn my water off and heating on timer

What happens if you turn the water off and heating develops a leak??

No but his house is chopped to pieces!!!!!! Gonna try an be a tiler/plasterer the next few days lol
